Japanese brand Snow Peak are revered the world over for their innovative mountaineering equipment and clothing.
Founded in 1958 by accomplished mountaineer, Yukio Yamai, the brand is named after the famous Japanese mountain, Tanigawa, where Yamai repeatedly challenged himself both physically and mentally.
Yamai also just happened to hail from a nearby city, Tsubame Sanjo, that was known for its highly skilled metal processing technology. It’s not a huge surprise then, that he decided to bring these two aspects of his life together to create a company with a vision of producing a line of superior climbing gear.
It was in the 1980s though, under the leadership of Yamai’s son, Tohru, that Snow Peak really honed their proposition to focus on producing mountaineering equipment of the future.
Through the release of a series of radically innovative products which focused on quality, functionality, timeless-durability and considered design, Snow Peak reached national recognition as a brand who inspires people around the world to enjoy the outdoors and find harmony with nature.
